On Wednesday 17th September 2014 the Mount Pleasant PS P&C - Grounds Committee presented a concept plan to the school community that looks at rejunvenating the school environment over a five year period. There were a great number of attendees including parents, school staff and wider community members. The plan has been endorsed by the school and P&C and will now move forward to the 'design and construct' stage.
The open space plan can be viewed here. The concept plan can be viewed here. The plan has been developed through Urban Design Landscape Architecture (UDLA) following an extensive consultation process involving school staff, students and parents. The plan reflects current research about what is needed to develop the 'whole child' including the importance of developing a sense of belonging and increasing connectedness to nature in the school environment.
